RAAC roof replacement, phase 3
The third phase of St David's RAAC programme, extending the replacement deck and felt system across further blocks.
Phase 3 continued the removal and replacement of defective RAAC roof structures at St David's Shopping Centre, applying the methodology proven in the earlier phases to further areas of the centre. As before, the works were carried out above a fully operational retail environment with no interruption to trading.

The solution
A new TATA RibDeck steel deck replaced the RAAC structure, finished with the same three-layer built-up felt system - Alumasc Derbigum Olivine cap sheet, high-performance bituminous layers and 210mm Rockwool insulation. Continuing the specification across phases gave the client a single, consistent roof covering with one guarantee position and a predictable maintenance regime.
